Jessica Simpson Jeered By Crowd

Pop singer Jessica Simpson, who has had an on-again, off-again relationship with playboy quarterback Tony Romo, recently decided to record a cross-over country album, much to the dismay of her fans, as well as those of the genre. The buxom blonde took the stage at her first live country gig this past weekend, only to be greeted with boos and jeers from the not-so-enthusiastic crowd.

Before the big upset in her career this past weekend, Jessica Simpson had been trying a new approach. Forever the bubbly blonde, she seemed to be trading in her carelessly wavy blonde locks and tight outfits for a sleeker, more sophisticated look. Many believed it was the influence of Tony Romo, who prefered Jessica to act more maturely when she was out in public with him. But, while opening for Sara Evans at the Country Thunder event in Randall, Wisconsin, Jessica was clad in short-shorts and cowboy boots; far from the sophisticated look she had previously been cultivating. Despite her alluring appearance, fans of country music were not exactly kind in their reviews.

“Just because she’s dating Tony Romo it doesn’t make her country,” said Mike Rodriguez, 31, from Lake Geneva. “She doesn’t fit in with country, and I’ll have to drink a lot of beer to sit through her concert.”
