Nina Dobrev Stars In The American Mall

Nina Dobrev, a rising teen star, stars in the upcoming MTV musical, The American Mall. The film, from the executive producers of Disney’s popular franchise, High School Musical, follows the lives of Dobrev, who plays Ally - “a singer/songwriter trying to save the family music store” and Rob Mayes, a relative newcomer to the world of film and TV, who plays Joey - “a janitor who is the lead singer of a garage band”.

The movie will debut on MTV on Monday, August 11th at 9:00 PM EST.Nina Dobrev was born on January 9, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria. At the age of two, she and her family moved to Toronto, Canada. While a youngster, she spent most of her time in theater, music, dance, gymnastics and acting. In fact, she attended the Dean Armstrong Acting school and while there, several talent agencies in Toronto recognized this brown-haired beauty. She was soon modeling and filming commercials, which led to her auditioning for film roles. She was featured in Fugitive Pieces and Away from Her. She is widely known for her role on the popular Canadian series on CTV, Degrassi: The Next Generation, where she plays Mia Jones.
