Heidi Strobel Hamels was born on October 29, 1978 in Bethesda, Maryland. She grew up in Buffalo, Missouri. She is widely known as a contestant on Survivor: The Amazon, where she finished in fifth place. She famously stripped off her clothes along with fellow contestant (and eventual winner) Jenna Morasca for peanut butter and Oreo cookies. They later appeared nude in Playboy’s August 2003 edition.

Heidi is a graduated of Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in physical education, secondary education and physiology. She has her master’s degree in physical education from West Chester University. Prior to her Survivor: Amazon stint, she was a P.E. and Health teacher.Heidi met Cole in 2004, when she was throwing out the first pitch at a minor league game in Florida. She married Philadelphia Phillies’ pitcher Cole Hamels on New Year’s Eve 2006.
