Velvet Revolver and former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum

Velvet Revolver and former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum has appeared in several video interviews voicing his thoughts about his former band's recently released Chinese Democracy."It's a toe-tapper," a snarky Sorum said in a short video posted on TMZ."I live to tell the tale," he said in passing to the group of paparazzi and fans tailing him at the airport.Sorum was a little more open to talking about the album when he took part in VH1 Classic's Rock Autism Celebrity Bowl-Off in Hollywood on Nov. 13."I think it's cool," he told Rockerrazzi.com in a video (posted below). "I've heard the single.

"I haven't heard the album. But I was actually pleasantly surprised by the single. I liked the way it was mixed. Axl's voice sounded great. It wasn't a song I worked on 15 years ago. I don't remember that riff."You can ask Sorum about Chinese Democracy when he accompanies singer/guitarist Stevie Salas and bassist Jara Slapbak as part of the fourth annual Unity Festival at Toronto's Sound Academy on Saturday.

In other Sorum-related news, Velvet Revolver have officially parted ways with RCA Records. RCA released both of the group's albums, 2004's Contraband and 2007's Libertad. The band asked to be released from their contract in June.Velvet Revolver are still searching for a new lead singer to replace Scott Weiland, who was given the boot earlier this year. Bassist Duff McKagan told Eddie Trunk on his Friday Night Rocks radio show on New York's Q104.3 last week that the search is still ongoing.
